A gourmet event “Kobe Sake x Hachinohe Fish – ‘Daikoku Masamune’ with Fish! ~will be held on January 19 at Nada Gogo Sake Shop (3 Mikagehonmachi, Higashinada-ku, Kobe). The event will be hosted by Yasufuku Matashiro Shoten.
Ai Yasufuku of Yasufuku Matashiro Shoten
The event is an opportunity to taste Aomori fish with Kobe and Nada sake. Ai Yasufuku, a planner and public relations manager for Yasufuku Matashiro Shoten, was impressed by the seafood she tasted at local markets and fish stores when she visited Hachinohe City in Aomori Prefecture in the summer of 2024, and she planned the event because she wanted people in Kobe to enjoy the seafood along with Daikoku Masamune, the company’s representative brand. The event will be held with the cooperation of the Hachinohe Fisheries Value Enhancement Executive Committee, organized by fishermen, fish restaurants, and chefs in Hachinohe City, and the fishermen will travel to Kobe.
On the day of the event, seafood directly shipped from Hachinohe will be served in a locally popular way. The menu includes “flatfish rice bowl,” “flatfish sashimi,” “cod milt,” “jappa-jiru,” “steamed himegai clam,” and “fried hokki-gai,” paired with the company’s Daikoku Masamune, a sake that goes well with fish, and “beef and teppan,” a sake for Japanese beef. In order not to make you too full, you can enjoy a dish in a small bowl or bowls and a glass of recommended sake in the form of a “mini-pairing set,” and you can also watch a fisherman from Hachinohe actually cut the fish right in front of you. At the entrance to the venue, a golden ticket packet (3,000 yen) will be available for exchange for food and drinks.
Yasufuku says, “Recently, more and more Japanese sake can be drunk on its own, and some cannot be enjoyed with seafood, but ‘Daikoku Masamune’ has a umami that is as good as strong fish and a sharpness that leaves no aftertaste, so I hope you enjoy the marriage of the two.
The event will be held from 12:00 to 20:30.
