Founded in Mikage in 1946, this bakery has been expanding its business in the Kobe area. Chocoppe,” a milk chocolate sandwich on soft French bread, was launched in 1974, and all eight Cologne bakeries sell 1,300 to 1,600 units per day. The total number of Choco Choppe sold from its launch to 2024 is estimated to be at least 22.5 million.
The “Chocoppe Fan Book” contains 10 episodes selected from “Chocoppe Memories,” which were solicited to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the product. Hiroko Chiba, a spokesperson for the company, said, “We were surprised to receive far more episodes than we expected. We received submissions from all ages, from Hokkaido in the north to Nagasaki Prefecture in the south, and we realized once again that Chocoppe is loved by people of all ages,” she said.
In addition to “Memories with Chocoppe,” the fan book also introduces trivia and trivia such as the history of “Cologne,” the origin of the Chocoppe name, and recommended ways to eat Chocoppe.
