Station Attractiveness Creation Division, Construction Bureau
Kobe City is working to improve the quality of its city and lifestyle and enhance its urban brand by renewing the area in front of the station, the “face of the city,” into an attractive space.
As part of the “Renovation Kobe” project, the “JR Nada Station South Station Square – Nada-no-mori Terrace” has been completed, and a completion ceremony will be held as follows.

Narrowing the roadway while securing a parking zone to improve disorderly parking and curb vehicle speeds at the roundabout.

Benches and sunshade roofs made of wood will be installed to make the plaza a place where everyone can relax and unwind.
Taking advantage of the location on Museum Road, a space where people can casually experience art and plantings that allow them to feel the four seasons have been newly created.
Improvement of lighting to enhance the nighttime scenery.
The plaza, which has many steps, will be made into a ramp to improve visibility between the station and the town and to improve barrier-free accessibility.

Based on the following concept, 9 artworks have been selected and installed in the Museum Road and the new station square space.
Creation of opportunities for young artists associated with Kobe City to present their works
Creation of a place where visitors can feel the artworks of Kobe Rokko Meets Art in the city.
Artworks will be continuously replaced over a period of time (1-5 years).
