Kobelco Kobe Steelers come to Suma Beach!

Sumahama Project for Raising Children Rugby Experience & Beach Cleanup

Suma Ward has been implementing the “Sumahama Project to nurture children” throughout the four seasons with the aim of nurturing children’s attachment to the community and the beach while they learn about the natural environment of Suma Beach. For this program, the local rugby team “Kobelco Kobe Steelers” will be invited to hold an event combining environmental conservation activities and sports experience.

Date and time

Saturday, October 11, 2025 9:00-12:00

• 9:00 – 9:30: Registration
• 9:30-10:30: Beach cleanup activity
• 10:30-12:00: Rugby experience (children only)

Program Contents

• Beach cleanup: Cleanup of Suma beach with Kobelco Kobe Steelers players
• Rugby experience: Program for beginners under the guidance of professional players (basic practice of passing, kicking, etc.)

Rugby experience is a program that is also open to inexperienced players (for children only).

Suma Beach (10 minutes walk from JR Suma Station and Sanyo Suma Station)

30 elementary school students living in Kobe City and their parents (a pair of 2 people)

Notes

• In case of stormy weather, the event will be canceled (decision will be made at 7:00 a.m. on the day of the event and notified via Suma Ward’s official website and e-mail/phone).
• Parents may only observe during the activity.
• Residents outside the city and preschool children are not allowed to participate.

Event FAQ

Q1: Can I participate even though I live outside the city?

No. This event is only for elementary school students and their guardians who live in Kobe City.

Q2: Can preschool children participate?

Only elementary school students are allowed to participate (observation is allowed).

Q3. How can I confirm the result of the lottery?

We will notify you of the results of the lottery by e-mail on September 18.

Q4. What happens in case of rain?

We will make a decision at 7:00 a.m. on the day of the event. If the event is cancelled, we will notify you via the website and e-mail.
