The Kobe Maritime Museum will hold a large exhibition of the popular illustrated book series “Extinct for a Reason”. The Kobe Maritime Museum will hold a large-scale exhibition of the popular illustrated book series “Wakawake ni Tsuitekishimashita”. This is an exhibition where visitors can actually see and learn about specimens and fossils of creatures that became extinct for unexpected reasons, such as “too gentle,” “too decorative,” and so on.

Outline of the exhibition

Period: September 19 (Friday) – October 13 (Monday, holiday), 2024

Time: 10:00-18:00 (last admission 17:30)

Venue: Kobe Maritime Museum 1F Auditorium, 2F Exhibition Rooms

Admission

  • Exhibition admission fee: 700 yen for adults and children (elementary school students and older)
  • Separate admission fee for children (elementary school students and above): ¥700
    • Adults (college students and older): 900 yen
    • Children (elementary, junior high, and high school students): 400 yen

Fossil Digging Experience”: A hands-on corner where visitors can dig for real ammonite fossils (fossils can be taken home).
Open Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays / 500 yen per visit (tax included)

Closed on Mondays (except for Monday, October 13 (national holiday), when the museum will be open; closed the following Tuesday, October 14)
