The “KG Tailgate Party,” an event to watch the KG Bowl between the Kwansei Gakuin University Fighters and the Keio University Unicorns, will be held at Oji Stadium (2 Oji-cho, Nada-ku, Kobe City) on April 20. The event will be hosted by the Kansai Student American Football Federation.
Under the theme of “Let’s eat BBQ and cheer for the football,” this event allows people to watch the game near the field while enjoying BBQ food and drinks, including alcohol, during the game. The event gets its name from the fact that it is held before and after sports games in the U.S., using the rear (tailgate) of wagons and other vehicles in parking lots and other locations. The “KG Bowl,” an interchange game between Kwansei Gakuin University and Keio University, two of the best teams in the East and West, was planned as an event that can be enjoyed by people who do not know the rules of football, along with Kobe’s nature, food, and music.
Tomomi Sonobe, a member of the event’s secretariat, hopes that people who are new to football will be able to experience the excitement of the game for the first time. We would like to make this event a part of Kobe’s culture in cooperation with the local community, including the El Nade Suidosuji shopping district,” he added.
The event will be held from 12:00 p.m., with field events starting at 11:00 a.m. and kickoff at 2:00 p.m. Prices are as follows: advance tickets = 1,300 yen, at the door = 1,500 yen. Advance tickets are available on the website.
