KOBE, an amusement stadium in Higashinada-ku, Kobe, opened a pop-up store “The World of Picture Books Loved for 100 Years – KAISEI-SHA” on December 23. KOBE,” which will be open until January 26, 2025.
The pop-up store features a wide range of popular picture books, reading materials, related goods, and event-specific goods from Kaiseisha, a publisher of many children’s books. The shop will feature more than 400 items, including the popular “Nontan” series, “The Hungry Caterpillar,” “The Karasu Baker,” and other long-selling picture books.
On January 11, a “Nontan” meet and greet event will be held. Numbered tickets are required to participate, and will be distributed to the first 75 people who purchase 2,200 yen (including tax) or more per transaction at the venue (distribution will begin on the first day of the event, December 23, on a first-come, first-served basis). Many cute Nontan goods will also be on sale.
Events such as a game to collect letters from “Karasu no Banya-san” will also be held (the event will end when the planned number of tickets is reached). Other related events will also be held.
