NHK’s TV drama series “Omusubi”, which began airing on September 30, 2024, tells the story of the main character Yui Yoneda (played by Kanna Hashimoto) and her family who experienced the earthquake and tsunami before January 17, 2025, which marks the 30th anniversary of the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake.
In week 8 “Sayonara Itoshima Tadaima Kobe” which started on November 18, the story moved to Kobe, and Kiss PRESS will explore the “locations in Kobe” that appeared in “Omusubi”. What is happiness? This time, we went to “Hankyu Oji Koen Station” in Nada Ward, which appeared in Week 13, “What is Happiness?
In front of Oji Koen Station on the Hankyu Kobe Line, she was told at a blind date party she attended with her childhood friend Natsumi (Shima Tabata) after breaking up with her boyfriend Shoya (Yuto Sano), who quit the Hoshigawa Denshi baseball team due to a shoulder injury, that there was “no point in becoming a nutritionist if you broke up with your boyfriend,” and on her way home alone while brooding, she met her sister Ayumi (Nakano Yuto) who came back from Hawaii. The scene was filmed when she met her older sister Ayumi (Riisa Naka), who had returned from Hawaii.
The area where Yui was stumbling along.
Yui is disappointed in Shoya, who has transformed into a blonde-haired gyaru man the next day (there is a reason why he became a gyaru man…), and she feels down that she cannot make Yui happy if she cannot become a professional baseball player. It was painful to watch as she wondered if she had chosen the right path, as it reminded me of myself (the author) when I first became a working adult and thought about changing jobs.
It is on the “Shimo-Oji Bridge” along the elevated railway line of the station that Yui discovers his walk. You can reach it by exiting the east exit (south side) of the station and going straight to the left.
Here is a view of the other side of the station from the Shimo-Oji Bridge. You saw a walk on the bridge decorated with red ornaments (in the shape of a person). The way she gently hugged Yui, who was overflowing with emotion and started to cry, was just like a big sister. Riisa Naka gives off an aura of a dependable older sister!
A harpooner emerges from the vertically striped tent-roofed building in the foreground.
Incidentally, the west side of the station was the location of the 11th week’s “What’s a Job? (Week 11, “What’s the deal with finding a job?”), a scene was filmed on the west exit of the station where Yui sees Morikawa (Shinya Kote), aka “Morimori,” a classmate at a vocational school, with a stranger. Many viewers may have been shocked by the sudden appearance of Morimori’s suspicions of infidelity.
Silhouettes of animals are also provided because of the nearby Oji Zoo?
Also, the walls of the temporary enclosure under the elevated structure are art? I couldn’t help but grin a little. When you visit, be sure to enjoy the “Setuke Comparison” as well♪
