The long novel “The Tale of Genji” written by Murasaki Shikibu was a favorite subject for art works including paintings, and left many excellent pieces. This exhibition introduces the “Tale of Genji Picture Scroll” and other outstanding works of art, including paintings and crafts, that depict the gorgeous and beautiful world of the Heian aristocracy.
