There are several Sumiyoshi Shrines in Akashi City, and the most representative one is located in Nakao, Uozumi-cho. The main deities are Soko-totsuno-no-mikoto, Naka-totsuno-no-mikoto, Omote-totsuno-no-mikoto, and Kicho-tamotsuki-no-mikoto. At Sumiyoshi Shrine in Nakao, Uozumi-cho, visitors can view approximately 2,500 hydrangeas of 20 varieties, which were planted by the shrine’s clergymen about 10 years ago!

There is a parking lot for visitors at Sumiyoshi Shrine, but public transportation is recommended during the hydrangea season!
