Uber Eats to Start in Akashi on October 6

Uber Eats, a food delivery service, will begin service in Akashi City and Tarumi Ward, Kobe City, on Tuesday, October 6, 2020, and in Kakogawa City on Thursday, October 8, 2020.

Notification to restaurants in the city was made around August, and information was provided in mid-September through an e-mail magazine for delivery partners.

• Commission fee
  • Shipping fee (from 50 yen)
  • Service fee (10%)
  • Orders under 700 yen: additional 150 yen
• Areas covered: Some areas in each city and town.

Western Akashi City (Uozumi and Futami) is not covered at this time. The area is expected to be expanded in the future.

Background of Hyogo Prefecture expansion

After landing in Japan in 2016, Uber Eats began service in Hyogo Prefecture in July 2018 in the Chuo, Hyogo, and Nada wards of Kobe City. It has since expanded to the entire Kobe City area, as well as Ashiya, Nishinomiya, Amagasaki, Itami, and Himeji cities.
