Akashi Municipal Library and Children’s Library “Minakuru” closes in October!

2016/10/26 Akashi City Library closes

Akashi City Library located in Akashi Park and Children’s Library “Min akuru” in Akashi City Lifelong Learning Center on the 8th floor of Aspia Akashi North Building will close in October!

Akashi City Library will move to Papios Akashi as “Akashi Civic Library” and Minakuru’s function will be taken over by “Children’s Library” located in “Akashi Children’s Plaza”.

Akashi City announced the schedule of closure of the library in its press release, so here is a brief summary.

The current main library in Akashi Park will be relocated to the redevelopment building “PAPIOS AKASHI” in front of Akashi Station, and will be closed as of October 26, 2016 (Wed.) in conjunction with its opening as the Akashi Civic Library on January 27, 2017 (Fri.).

Schedule of Library Closure

October 11 (Tue.) – 26 (Wed.), 2016

For materials borrowed at the current main library during the above period, the normal two-week return deadline will be extended until the opening day of the new library on January 27, 2017 (Fri.)

Last day to check out and return materials at the counter of the Main Library:

End of accepting book returns at the “Return Post Box” in the current building

Children’s Library “Minakuru

The Children’s Library will close on October 30, 2016 (Sun.) in conjunction with the opening of the Children’s Library in the “Akashi Children’s Plaza” on the 5th floor of the redevelopment building “PAPIOS AKASHI” in front of Akashi Station.

Minakuru will close on October 30. Accordingly, user registration and book loan applications will close on September 30. Please return all borrowed books by October 30.
