Dojo Chikari Cherry Blossom Festival” will be held on April 6 and 7 at Chikari Reservoir Plaza in Kita-ku, Kobe City, for the first time in five years. Admission is free.
The rows of cherry trees along the Kitano Prefectural Road from Ikuno Bridge and the tunnel of cherry blossoms that stretches along the way is one of the best spots for cherry blossom viewing in Kita-ku, Kobe City. On the day of the event, “Chikkari Reservoir Plaza,” which is usually closed to visitors, will be open to the public, and visitors will be able to see the Chikkari Dam.
Free temporary parking is available on the north side of JR Dojo Station, and the venue is about a 20-minute walk away (*30 cars). If the free parking lot is full, please use the paid parking lot on the south side of the station.
Although it is a little further, you can also enjoy hiking from Shintetsu Dojo Station to view the cherry blossoms along the Arima River (*approx. 70 minutes, 5.5 km).

At the open area, there will be food and beverages for sale, including “Shioda Mochi” made from local brand glutinous rice harvested in Shioda, Dojo Town, tonjiru, oden, ohagi (rice dumplings), and drinks, etc. You can enjoy viewing cherry blossoms while relaxing, eating and resting on a rug spread on the plaza (*No barbecue is allowed).
In case of rain or stormy weather, it will be announced on the official website of Dojo Town Tourist Association by 7:00 a.m. on the day of the event.
<A word from the reporter>
This is the first time in five years that the event has been held, and the author is looking forward to it. I would like to spread out leisure sheets in the plaza and enjoy the cherry blossom viewing with my family.
