Hyogo Ward will celebrate its 90th anniversary on January 1 next year. To celebrate this memorable year, the “Hyogo Canal Festival” will be held on October 23 at the Shinkawa Canal Canal Promenade and AEON MALL Kobe Minami (Hyogo Ward, Kobe City) as a pre-event to commemorate the 90th anniversary of Hyogo Ward’s incorporation.

The Hyogo Canal Festival, which will be held for the 22nd time this year, will again enliven the entire region with a “Canal Stage” and other performances unique to the Hyogo Canal, not only to create and disseminate new attractions of the Hyogo Canal, but also to restore vitality even with the Corona disaster, by taking thorough measures to prevent new coronavirus infection.

Scene of last year’s event
Continuing from last year, “Hyogo-tsu JAZZ LIVE & Hyogo Gokoku Marche” will be held on the same day as a collaborative project for the grand opening of the Hyogo-tsu Museum, and a fantastic music fountain show “WATER FANTASIA KOBE” will be the grand finale. The fantastic and dynamic world view creates a sense of unity between the night sky and the city. <A word from the reporter>
At the concurrent JAZZ LIVE, visitors can enjoy performances by professional jazz bands, Hyogo Prefecture high school bands, and amateur jazz bands. At the Marche, gourmet foods and specialties from the five regions (Settsu, Harima, Awaji, Tanba, and Tajima) will be gathered at the Hyogo Canal, making it a fun event for children and adults alike.
