In July and August, Kobe City will host a number of sporting events, including a Japan Rugby National Team match and a Vissel Kobe 30th Anniversary Charity Match.
On July 12, the Lipovitan D Challenge Cup 2025 will be held at Noevir Stadium Kobe, featuring a match between the Japanese national rugby team and the Welsh national team. This will be the first time in seven years that the Japanese national rugby team will play in Kobe.
On July 27, a 30th anniversary charity match between Vissel Kobe and FC Barcelona will be held, and on August 2, a “LEGENDS MATCH” will be held between the KOBE DREAMS, featuring mainly Japanese players, and the WORLD DREAMS, featuring mainly foreign players.
To enhance the excitement of these matches, the Port Tower will be lit up in white on July 11 and 12, and the Kobe Maritime Museum and BE KOBE monument will be lit up in red to symbolize the Japanese and Welsh national teams, respectively.
On July 25 and 26, the team colors of FC Barcelona, blue and red, will adorn Kobe’s landmarks, and on August 1 and 2, the entire city will be illuminated in the colors of Vissel Kobe’s 30th anniversary uniforms to set the mood for the celebration.
In addition, on the nights of August 1 and 2, a Kobe Port Weekend Fireworks Display will be held off Meriken Park from 7:30 p.m. to commemorate the “LEGENDS MATCH.
Information about the match will be introduced on digital signage and large screens throughout the city to create excitement for visitors to the match.
