Patisserie AKITO, a popular confectionary store in Motomachi, Kobe, has been attracting attention for its special limited-time offer. The popular cream puffs, normally priced at 380 yen, are now offered as “KIDS Milk Jam Cream Puffs” for 100 yen only for children of elementary school age and under.
This service was invented by Soma, son of owner-chef Tetsuto Tanaka. He started it because he wanted to “create a scene where children come alone with 100 yen coins to buy the cream puffs.
The cream puffs with milk jam feature thick dough and melt-in-your-mouth cream. The taste is captivating not only to children but also to adults, and is synonymous with Patisserie AKITO.
This initiative reflects the lessons that Soma learned at “Kasho Shimizu” in Nagano, “to be a pastry chef who can imagine family gatherings. He also has experience working at a children’s cafeteria, and this project was conceived as “something we can do because we are a cake shop.
The store also holds “Dream Cake” events, where parents and children can draw their dreams and turn them into actual cakes. The shop’s commitment to developing new products while preserving traditional flavors is evident.
