As people age, oral function declines, affecting their overall health and quality of life (QOL). Since the risk of tooth decay increases with age, saliva loss due to medication, and gum recession, maintain oral health and extend your healthy life span through dental checkups even if you have no symptoms.

Subjects

Those born between April 1, 1959 and March 31, 1960.

Free coupons and a list of medical institutions that offer the service will be sent to eligible persons in mid-May 2025.

1. Oral function check
   1. Gliding tongue check: Evaluation of motor function of the tongue, lips, and soft palate by pronouncing “pa,” “ta,” and “ka
   2. Swallowing function check: Measurement of the number of times saliva is swallowed in 30 seconds
   3. Masticatory function and oral dryness check
2. Check for carious teeth, occlusion, denture condition
3. Examination of mucous membrane abnormalities, etc.

Place of implementation

• At the designated dental clinics listed in the guidebook (or at clinics outside of the residential area)

Points to note when receiving a checkup

• Period: From the date of coupon arrival to March 31, 2026 (early booking is recommended)
• Make an appointment by phone in advance at the designated medical institution (clearly state that you will be using the coupon).
• Things to bring on the day: Coupon, completed medical questionnaire, and identification documents (My number card, driver’s license, etc.)
• Not available for those moving out of the city
