February is the first month in Rokko-do! Saturday morning market “EAT LOCAL KOBE FARMERS

EAT LOCAL KOBE FARMERS MARKET” is a Saturday morning market where you can find agricultural and marine products from Kobe, Hyogo Prefecture. It will be held for the first time in Rokko-michi, Nada-ku, Kobe.

The Farmers’ Market is a monthly event held by “EAT LOCAL KOBE,” a platform to promote local production for local consumption of agricultural and marine products in Kobe, with the aim of creating a place where consumers and producers can meet directly.
This is the first time for this event to be held east of Chuo Ward. The event will be held at Rokko Michi Minami Park on the south side of JR Rokko Michi, which is usually crowded with people, with lawns, playground equipment, and attractive stores around.

Local farmers and fishermen, as well as restaurants, set up booths where visitors can purchase seasonal foods and interact with the producers. Another fun part of the event is the breakfast, with a different restaurant on duty each week.

On February 25, “Awakawa Day” will be held at the same time in collaboration with Awakawa Town, Kita Ward, Kobe City, a town with people-to-people connections centered on agriculture.

Booths featuring tulips and strawberries from Awakawa, as well as long-established Japanese confectionery shops, will be set up, some of which are not usually found at markets.

The organizer said, “We hope that people from Nada and Higashinada wards, as well as Ashiya and Nishinomiya, will come to the farmers’ market, which is now closer to us. Information on farmers and stores participating in the market is announced weekly on the official website and SNS. ＜A word from the reporter:
