KYUON Chocolate Kobe Store collaborates with Kobe Shu-shin-kan to offer “Sakekasu Terrine

　On December 1, the pure chocolate specialty store “KU-ON Chocolate Kobe” (5 Umizuka-cho, Nagata-ku, Kobe City, Tel: 078-646-3661 ), located on the first floor of the south wing of Asta Kunizuka 1 Building, will start selling “Sakekasu Terrine,” a collaboration product with Kobe Sake Shinpan (1 Mikagezuka-cho, Higashinada-ku, Kobe City, Tel: 078-646-3661 ).

　Kyuon Chocolate is a chocolate brand originating from Toyohashi with 52 locations nationwide under the slogan, “Chocolate makes magic happen. The brand is operated by welfare organizations as franchisees, and 350 of the 550 chocolatiers at each location are disabled people.

　The Kobe store, which opened in October 2020, is operated by PLAST (4 Umizuka-cho, Nagata-ku, Tokyo), which operates a medical, nursing care, and welfare business. Currently, about 20 people with disabilities work as chocolatiers every day.

　Kobe Shu-shin-kan, the brewer of “Fukuju,” a sake brewed in Mikagego, one of Nada’s five Nada districts, and said to have been born in 1751, has been working on environmental conservation as the core of its management, with SDGs at the core of its efforts.

　The two companies, both of which aim for a sustainable society from different directions, collaborated to develop a collaborative product using KYUON CHOCOLATE’s signature terrine and powdered sake lees from Kobe Shu-shin-kan.

　Sakekasu Terrine, which has the aroma of sakekasu just by opening the package, is accented with roasted brown rice, which gives it a crispy texture with a savory and crunchy texture. The base is made from Belgian couverture chocolate, which has a milky flavor and smooth texture that blends with the natural aroma of sakekasu, creating a slightly mature taste,” said the company.
