Special shaved ice for this day only, specially made by the Suzuen patissier, will also be available at The Garden Place Suzuen in Mikage.

A summer vacation workshop for parents and children will be held at The Garden Place Suzhouen (Higashinada-ku, Kobe) on August 1 only. Reservations required.

At the workshop to be held at The Garden Place Suzhouen, built in 1934 and now operating as a wedding hall and restaurant, parents and children will create “wreaths” and “topiaries” using preserved flowers from the very popular Osaka flower store “bois de gui.

On the day of the workshop, pairs of two will work together to create a single work of art under the theme of “Summer Memories. Because preserved flowers are used instead of fresh flowers, the wreaths and topiaries can be kept with the memories forever and can be displayed in the living room where the family gathers, in the children’s rooms, or as gifts. They are also recommended for children’s summer homework.

After the workshop, visitors will be offered “the only shaved ice in the world,” which they can arrange to their liking from three kinds of fruit sauces and six kinds of toppings on softly shaved ice. Visitors can enjoy the shaved ice specially made by the Suzhou Garden patissier, which is only available on this day, while gazing at the garden where you can feel the changing of the seasons.
