The “Ribu” commercial facility directly connected to JR Sumiyoshi Station and the flagship “Cia (Consumer Cooperative Co-op Kobe)” store (Higashinada-ku, Kobe) will reopen in late April, with 21 new stores and 8 existing stores to be announced.
Newly Reborn 2nd Floor Central Concourse
Since its opening in March 1989, this facility has been a favorite of nearby residents and station users. The plan was developed in response to requests from the community for more food and general merchandise stores and a wider variety of restaurants.
The most significant change will be in the west area, which previously housed a bank and restaurants. The entire area will be covered with sashes to create a brightly lit storefront, and the view from the rotary on the north side of JR Sumiyoshi Station will be completely renewed.
The first floor will be transformed into a lively “food and goods zone” with six stores, including daily-use stores such as “Seijo Ishii” and “Isuzu Bakery,” as well as prepared food stores where you can buy quick meals for your busy days.
The second floor, which is easily accessible from JR Sumiyoshi Station, will be a casual “eating and drinking zone” with a natural and open atmosphere.
Seven attractive stores will open, including “Crunchy Takezono,” a new business model of Ashiya’s butcher store with an eat-in space, and “Tsunoda Curry,” which will open for the first time in Kobe. The “Mister Donut” previously located on the 1st floor will be relocated to the same floor.
In the west area on the third floor, “MUJI 500,” which offers daily necessities priced at 500 yen or less, has also newly opened. This store specializes in station and station-based stores, and its appeal is that it offers high-quality products at reasonable prices.
The east area on the second floor, which used to house mainly fashion goods stores, has been transformed into a space mainly for “sweets zone”.
In addition to 8 western and Japanese confectionery stores such as “Bokusan” and “Haiji,” long-established confectionery stores in Kobe, which are convenient for purchasing daily treats and souvenirs, “Mikage Shinseido” grocery store and cosmetics and general merchandise stores will also be available.
SEA plans to completely renovate the food floor on the first floor, and to rearrange the clothing, cosmetics, drug, and housing-related goods floors on the second and third floors for a fresh opening.
<A word from the reporter>
The renewal took about a year. It will be a shopping center that will be quite well-equipped from foodstuffs to restaurants and general merchandise. We are now looking forward to its opening in late April!
