Oji Street Festival (OSF), a pedestrian paradise event, will be held for the first time on April 1 at Oji Koen Ekimae Shotengai (1 Oji-cho, Nada-ku, Kobe City), the entrance to Kobe’s Suidosuji shopping district.

The event will be hosted by “Wakuwaku Nishinada,” a non-profit organization launched in 2020 to revitalize the Nishinada district on the west side of Nada Ward, overlooking Mt. Last year, the first fall festival was planned and was much anticipated by local residents, but was cancelled due to the rainy weather forecast. This year, the festival will be held on the same day as the 28th Nada Cherry Blossom Festival in Tsuga River Park in an attempt to gain revenge.
At the venue, there will be food and drink stalls run by members of the Oji Park Station Shopping Association, and game stalls run by Wakuwaku Nishinada, including touchdown pass, yo-yo scooping, and Senbon-drawing. In addition, local musicians will perform live on a music stage, and eight types of face signs will be set up for visitors to take commemorative photos.
Toshiharu Matsumoto, chairman of “Wakuwaku Nishinada,” said, “We were able to receive certification as an urban revitalization promotion organization from Kobe City when we started as an NPO, but we were unable to hold the event due to the new Corona disaster. Unfortunately, last year’s event was cancelled, but we will finally be able to realize the dream of our members to hold a hokoten event utilizing the wide street in front of Oji Koen Station Shopping Center.
The event will be held from 12:00 to 15:00.
