The origin of Japanese culture “Kawaii” is here! Kobe Fashion

From April 8, “Roots of Kawaii: Rene Naito’s 70th Anniversary Special Exhibition” will be held at Kobe Fashion Museum in Higashinada-ku, Kobe, until June 25.
A large collection of “Kawaii”!
This exhibition commemorates the 70th anniversary of the debut of “Roots of Kawaii” (creator of “Kawaii culture”) Rene Naito, a multi-creator who led Japanese girl culture in the 1950s and 1960s.

Ms. Naito got her big break with the cover and illustrations of “Junior Soreiyu,” a fashion magazine that gained overwhelming support at the time. His illustrations, designs, and fancy goods have laid the foundation of pop culture up to the present day.

At the exhibition, about 570 items will be exhibited, including the works exhibited for the first time, rare original drawings, reproductions of Rene girl’s costumes, and fancy goods. ＜
The exhibition is retro and nostalgic, yet somehow new and cute, and it makes me feel that the times are changing! The parade of cute things will keep you on the edge of your seat.
