From April 1, the “Kaigan Line Free Pass for Junior High School Students and Under” will be available for free unlimited rides on the Kaigan Line subway line until March 31, 2024.
The convenient and too good-for-you free pass is now in full swing!
The Kaigan Line runs from Shin-Nagata Station to Hanadokei-mae in Sannomiya, and there are many places to visit along the line, such as Kobe City Museum, Nankinmachi, and Harbor Land.
In July 2017, the city launched the “Kaigan Line Free Pass for Junior High School Students and Under” as a social experiment to promote the use of the line. The free pass has now been put into full-scale implementation.
It is great that junior high school students and younger from within and outside the city can use the service.
The pass is open to all junior high school students and younger, and those who can be verified as such. Foreign nationals can also apply, regardless of whether they live in the city or outside the city. The application must be renewed every six months (two terms, from April to September 2023 and from October to March 2024). Applications are accepted at facilities such as “AEON MALL Kobe Minami” and “Kobekko Land” as well as at regular sales offices at train stations. <A word from the reporter>
