Hands-on events will be held at Kobe Harbor Land umie during Golden Week.
In the “Koinobori Rocket Car Craft” event, which will be held from May 3 to 5, visitors will create a rubber-powered rocket car with the image of a carp banner, in honor of Children’s Day. Visitors can choose their favorite color and complete their own original car, which they can drive on the course.
On May 6 and 7, the “Ball Machine – DinDon,” the symbol of the facility, was created to commemorate umie’s 10th anniversary. This is the work of American sculptor George Rose, and was installed at the same time as the opening of Harborland in 1992. The perpetual kinetic movement of the ball and the fun sound it makes are popular monuments, and the event will create a mini DinDon that can be made and played with.
Numbered tickets will be distributed from 10:00 a.m. at the Flower Plaza on the 2nd floor of Mosaic at the facility. 8 times a day, each time with 15 people in a 50-minute changeover, each time costs 200 yen per person. 100 yen will be discounted for those who have registered for the umie application by showing the registration screen.
A representative of the facility is calling for visitors, saying, “We are preparing many other events to commemorate umie’s 10th anniversary, so please come and visit us. <
The mini ding-dong making is said to be a slightly more challenging craft. Parents and children are encouraged to work together to complete it!
