6,000 irises of about 70 varieties to add color to the rainy season at Suma Rikyu Park

From early to mid-June, colorful irises will be in full bloom at Kobe City Suma Rikyu Park in Suma Ward, Kobe City.

At the “Iris Garden” located at the foot of “Tsukimiyama,” a famous moon-viewing spot associated with the Tale of Genji, about 70 species and 6,000 plants including “Aoi no Ue,” “Kaorukun,” and “Hikaru Genji” gracefully and quietly bloom, delighting visitors’ eyes.
Kaorukun
Although the rainy season started early this year, the opening of the blooms is said to be the same as usual. Other flowers such as “hydrangeas” and “lilies” will be in full bloom at the same time.
