Challenge the wonder of taste! Summer Vacation Free Study to be Completed at the Movie Theater

Ltd. and omochi OS Co., Ltd. will hold a hands-on workshop “Soup Detectives – Uncover the secrets of deliciousness by relying on your five senses! 〜will be held at OS Cinemas Kobe Harborland (Chuo-ku, Kobe) on August 20.

In this workshop, participants will taste two kinds of corn soup at different temperatures to see how the taste changes depending on how cold or warm the soup is, and then use their five senses to slowly taste the soup and freely draw what they feel in the form of art. The soup will be served to elementary school students twice, at 11:00 and 13:00. The first 12 people to register for each session will be admitted at a cost of 1,000 yen. Applications are being accepted on line.

The purpose of this event is to nurture, through work, the enjoyment and importance of chewing and eating slowly, as well as the ability to understand diverse values and express one’s own thoughts.

This event is a collaboration between MCC Foods and omochi, a company with a mission to “expand opportunities to experience the richness of food” and which is engaged in on-site classes and training at educational institutions and the development of educational content with “food” as its focus, and a project to use movie theaters as a base to promote the liveliness and culture of the city. The event was held in collaboration with OS, which is developing “CINE LAB,” a project that utilizes movie theaters as a base for communicating information about the city’s liveliness and culture.

The presentation materials and worksheets created on the day can be taken home as deliverables, so they can be used as free research materials for children during their summer vacation.
