From August 11 to 13, Kobe Oji Zoo will hold “Twilight ZOO,” an event in which the zoo will be open for two hours longer than its normal hours of 5:00 p.m. to allow visitors to see the animals in a more active state. Admission is the same as usual, 600 yen for adults, and free for junior high school students and younger, and those 65 years old and older living in Hyogo Prefecture.
The “Twilight ZOO” event will be held exclusively for “Twilight ZOO” and will include the animals’ meal time and related events such as “Animals’ Dinner Time! and related events such as “Animal Training” and “Animal Guides” will be held.
During the limited meal time, there will be a special feeding scene that differs from the usual meal time, such as giving Amur leopards and jaguars beef bones as gifts. There will also be training sessions for the animals, unusual exhibits, and guided tours about the animals by the zookeepers.
During this period, the “Oji’s Summer Vacation/Kui ZOO Rally” will also be held at the same time. This is an event where visitors can enjoy strolling around the zoo while taking a quiz rally and discovering new things about the zoo, and if they can solve all the questions, they will receive prizes. The quiz rally is limited to the first 60 children (elementary school students and junior high school students) and the first 40 adults (high school students and older) per day. A quiz card will be distributed at the Animal Science Museum, and participation is free of charge (admission fee is required).
During this period, animals at the Animal and Children’s Kingdom “Fureai Hiroba” cannot be seen after 17:00, but the store (Panda Plaza) next to the front gate and the amusement park will be open until 19:00.
<A word from the reporter:
There will be many events during the two hours of extended hours that will allow you to see the animals in a different way than usual. You may even see a donkey strolling through the park at dusk!
