Kobe City: Kobe City Representative Athletes at the 35th National Health and Welfare Festival Ehime, Taijiquan

The 35th National Health and Welfare Festival Ehime was held from Saturday, October 28 to Tuesday, October 31, 2023, and the Kobe City representative team won first place among 57 teams in the Fureai Sports Exchange Tai Chi Competition and second place among 68 teams in the Sports Exchange Tennis Competition. The team also won the second place in the sports exchange tennis tournament out of 68 teams.

*What is the National Health and Welfare Festival?
A comprehensive festival of health and welfare that includes sports competitions, art exhibitions and cultural events mainly for senior citizens aged 60 and over. A music and culture festival and a children’s festival are also held, making the festival a place where all generations can enjoy and interact with each other. The festival is nicknamed “Nenrinpikku. The event has been held annually since 1988, the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare, with the aim of contributing to the formation of a long-lived society where people, especially the elderly, can maintain and promote their health, participate in society, and have a sense of fulfillment in life, and where they can have a sense of contact and vitality.
