How many unique “Hiragana human characters” can you find? Children’s Book Forest

Hiragana Circus,” a work exhibited at Rokko Meets Art Art 2023 beyond, will be exhibited at “Kodomo Hon no Mori Kobe” (Chuo Ward, Kobe City) and “Shinkaichi Art Plaza” (Hyogo Ward, Kobe City). The exhibition will run from December 18 to January 21, 2024 (from December 19 at Kodomo Hon no Mori Kobe).

The artist is Sayaka Tsuchiya, a plastic artist. The colorful and unique poses of the “Jingoji Hiragana” works are fun to look at.

Visitors can learn hiragana while having fun by checking the hiragana they find and finding hidden “words” on worksheets provided at the venue.

Both venues are places where many children gather. Many foreign residents also live near Shinkaichi Art Plaza, so we decided to hold this exhibition so that they can enjoy learning hiragana while having fun.

On January 8, a workshop “Let’s make a fluffy book brooch” with Ms. Tsuchiya as the instructor will be held at “Kodomo Hon no Mori Kobe” (500 yen). Advance reservations are required.

Just looking at the human letters will cheer you up! It looks like fun for parents and children to search for hiragana together. Some of the children may even strike the same pose.
