) The

Forest Botanical Garden is working to preserve the Rokko Mountain water system (Ikuta River) through forest maintenance and ecosystem protection as part of its SDGs efforts. The Hase Pond in the park has been suffering from the decline of aquatic plants such as Oyster Swallowtail due to the inflow and deposition of sediment caused by typhoons, etc. We will promote nature restoration efforts together with citizens in order to restore and regenerate the proper habitat for aquatic plants and animals. In this event, participants will help create a better environment for waterfront creatures by planting oyster seedlings and digging up rhizomes of water lilies that have spread too far.
The theme of the event will be “Growth and Habitat of Diverse Aquatic Organisms,” and children will be given an easy-to-understand picture-story presentation to deepen their understanding of the ecology and functions of diverse aquatic organisms, including the handling of invasive alien species, and the importance of habitat conservation and management.
