A live house in Sannomiya, “Kobe VARIT.” (Chuo-ku, Kobe) will hold “Toa Road no Haremusume Talk & Live with Takashi Matsumoto” on May 6. Tickets will be on sale to the general public through e-plus from March 16.
This talk and live concert will bring together artists who are familiar with Kobe with lyricist Takashi Matsumoto, who fell in love with Toa Road, a slope connecting the Old Settlement area and the Yamate area from north to south. The lineup includes “Chicken Garlic Steak,” Japan’s first a cappella group formed in Kobe, and “Charlie Nisio,” a singer who made his debut at “Kobe Kentos,” a live house that once existed on Toa Road.
The history of “Toa Road” dates back to 1868, when the Port of Kobe opened to the outside world, and it was used as a commuter route connecting the work (Old Settlement) and residential areas (Kitano) of foreigners who visited Japan, which had just opened to the outside world at that time. Absorbing Western culture brought by foreigners, Toa Road developed as a sophisticated and sophisticated street, and is still loved by many people, both residents and tourists, as a street that retains a strong sense of “Kobe-ness”.
This event is a rare opportunity to experience the charm of Toa Road through Matsumoto’s talk and live performances by artists.
