City of Kobe: [University City Kobe Industry-Government-Academia Platform

In Kobe City, there continues to be an excess of university graduates moving out to other areas of the city, making it an urgent issue to secure and retain the human resources that will play a key role in Kobe’s local economy.
As part of the University City Kobe Industry-Government-Academia Platform Project, a job fair will be held in the virtual space of the Metaverse to provide an opportunity for students in the city to get to know local companies and learn about their business activities in a casual manner, based on the recently popular online job hunting activities.

In the metaverse space, corporate recruiters and students will communicate with each other using “avatars,” which will be their alter egos, while ensuring anonymity for the participating students so that they can feel free to ask questions that they might find difficult to ask face-to-face.

In addition to the virtual space of the Metaverse, a face-to-face orientation session will be held at the Kobe Business Campus of the University of Hyogo to provide both a virtual and realistic experience.

(1) Date and time (tentative): Saturday, May 18, 2024, 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

(2) Location online: Metaverse Space

(3) Face-to-face: Kobe Business Campus, University of Hyogo

(3) Schedule for the day:

Briefing (3 sessions in total) 11:00 – 11:30, 11:40 – 12:10, 12:20 – 12:50

Free time 13:00-14:00 (students are free to visit company booths)
