Kobe City: [Kobe City University of Foreign Studies] Up to 3.5 million yen in repayment-free grants and study abroad

Kobe City University of Foreign Studies (hereinafter “Kobe City University of Foreign Studies”) has established a new scholarship program for study abroad, the “Steve Yamada Scholarship,” with the support of Mr. Susumu Yamada (known as “Steve Yamada”), a graduate of the English and American Studies Department.
After graduating from Kobe City University of Foreign Studies in 1965, Mr. Yamada started his own business in New York, USA, as the chairman and founder of Maypro Industries, Inc.
The purpose of this scholarship program is to support and foster students who will become bridges between Japan and the rest of the world, just as Steve Yamada has become a bridge between Japan and the United States. In particular, we support undergraduate and graduate students who are financially needy but have a strong spirit of challenge in pursuing study abroad.
