2 “The Secret Stories of Creatures” Created by the Keepers of átoa

The “2-Panel Storybook: What the Keepers Want to Teach You About Creatures” created by the keepers of “átoa,” an urban aquarium combining aquarium and art in Chuo-ku, Kobe, has been on sale at the aquarium since August 8, 2012.

The book is available for 1,980 yen (tax included).

The book was produced with the wish of Atoa’s zookeepers and staff to “let people know more about the charms of living creatures, such as their beauty in surviving harsh environments and their unexpected and mysterious appearances.

The humorous two-frame cartoons depict the inside stories of the creatures carefully selected by the zookeepers, and introduce the wonders and surprising appearances of the creatures under the three themes of “Namae, Katachi, Ikizama”.

In the special corner of the átoa LAB SHOP, you can learn about the points that the átoa staff involved in the production of the book were particular about, as well as commentary on the creatures that could not be fully described. Books can be freely picked up and read, and visitors can consider purchasing the book after taking a closer look.
