Awaji Highway Oasis in Iwaya, Awaji City, will install one of the largest Christmas trees in Awaji Island from November 3 to December 25.
A 9-meter high, glowing Christmas tree!
Awaji Highway Oasis is directly connected to the Awaji Service Area of the Kobe-Awaji Naruto Expressway by a connecting road, and is a complex facility where visitors can enjoy dining and shopping.
Since 2004, the facility has installed a giant Christmas tree in the atrium on the first floor of the main facility, the “Oasis Pavilion,” every Christmas season.
A life-size Santa Claus also appears!
This year, the 20th year, the lighting ceremony will be held from 5:30 p.m. on November 3, with the hope that visitors will enjoy it at this time when they begin to feel the arrival of winter due to the cooler morning and evening temperatures. After the lighting of the tree, a mini-concert will be held by the Yuzuriha Children’s Chorus, Minami-Awaji City Boys and Girls Chorus, and others.
The tree is 9 meters tall, making it one of the tallest on Awaji Island. During the exhibition period, approximately 10,000 light bulbs decorating the tree will be lit throughout the day, delighting the eyes of visitors.
Visitors can enjoy the “light competition” indoors and outdoors at night.
In addition, the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge is lit up at night! Visitors can enjoy the beautiful light scenes that color the season both indoors and outdoors.

The Christmas season has arrived again this year. The Oasis Pavilion is a distinctive building with a high ceiling and all-glass windows on the ocean side. The huge tree shining in the greenhouse-like environment of large plants is truly a sight to behold.
