We visited “Tora no Butter” (Nagata-ku, Kobe), a 5-minute walk from Shin-Nagata Station, which has been open for 12 years and is loved by local residents for its various types of curry udon.

What kind of restaurant is this? But when you look at the menu outside, you will see that there are many kinds of curry udon. Especially on a cold day, curry udon is a must-try.

The menu is the same for both day and night, and the hot pot menu is only available at night.

When you open the door, the flavorful aroma of curry and dashi broth invites you in and whets your appetite.

The spacious interior is decorated with brightly colored, uniquely designed, and uniquely patterned sundries that are filled with the owner’s hobbies.

The name of the restaurant, “Tiger’s Butter,” was taken from the picture book “Chibikuro Sambo,” which you must have picked up somewhere when you were a child. I remember the scene at the end when Sambo eats the pancake made with tiger butter, and it looks so delicious.

When the owner and his wife were thinking of a name for the restaurant, their mother asked them, “How about Tiger Butter, which appears in the book “Chibikuro Sambo”? They decided on the name.

This time, I sampled the “Wagyu Horumon Curry Udon Set Meal” from the many menu items available.

The crunchy chopped cabbage and soft, plump hormon (hormone) intertwine with the thin udon noodles, making them slippery and slippery. The “Wagyu Horumon Curry Udon” was between medium and hot, but the other menu item, “Bokkake Curry Udon,” has a less spicy taste because the beef tendon is cooked sweetly and combined with curry. If you do not like spicy food, you may want to ask the restaurant staff what mild menu items are available.
