Ekimina Play Park,” an event where children can play to their heart’s content, will be held on February 9 at “Hyogo Station South Park” (Hyogo Ward, Kobe City), about a 7-minute walk from JR Hyogo Station. Admission is free.
The park, with its spacious lawn area and playground equipment, is a convenient place for shopping and dining after playing, as there are commercial facilities and restaurants nearby.
Under the concept of “becoming a child-friendly town where children play a leading role,” events such as “Play Park” and “Disaster Prevention Children’s Cafeteria” are held regularly once a month on the second Sunday of the month.
On February 9, three 10-ton truckloads of snow will arrive from Shinsen-cho, Hyogo Prefecture, allowing visitors to enjoy snow play, including snowman building, at a park in Hyogo Ward, where snow rarely accumulates. Participants need to bring their own gloves, change of clothes, and tools, and a sand play set may be useful. Specialty products of Shinsen-cho will be introduced at the event.
An “outdoor children’s cafeteria” (about 200 servings of curry and rice will be served; the event will end when all the servings are gone) will also be held at the same time.
This is an effort to support children who tend to feel lonely for various reasons, and it also serves as a place to deepen community ties through interaction with the children.
