The 12th Tektekku Bakery Festival will be held from March 14 to 16 at Housing Design Center Kobe (HDC Kobe) (Chuo Ward, Kobe City) in front of JR Kobe Station. Admission is free.
About 50 bakeries, mainly from the Keihanshin area, will gather at this event. This year, to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the opening of the facility, famous breads from all over Japan and “Sakura-iro” event-only breads will be on sale as a special event.
Seven types of “Sakura-iro” breads will be on sale, including “Sakura Melon Pan” by Senbokudo in Sakai City, which has a fluffy dough filled with cherry bean paste and crispy, and “Strawberry Donut” by en.donuts& in Kita-ku, Kobe City, which has sweet and sour strawberry chocolate topped with freeze-dried strawberries and white chocolate.
The “Salad Pan,” a specialty bread from Shiga Prefecture, is a fluffy coppa bread filled with finely chopped takuan (radish) and mayonnaise, and has a unique flavor that you cannot find anywhere else. The “Salad Pan”, a famous bread, and the “Chikara Anpan”, Iwate Prefecture’s local bread, which is filled with sweet sweet bean paste, creating a perfect harmony.
In addition to bread sales, workshops will be held on the day. Visitors can make their own miniature toast magnets, hamburger ballpoint pens, and more. Priority will be given to those who make reservations in advance, but if there is space available on the day, participation is possible.
An indoor park “Kodochi Park” (fee required) opened last August on the 10th floor of the museum. Parents and children are welcome to come and enjoy the park. Although a pay parking lot is available at the venue, it is expected to be crowded on the day of the event, so visitors are encouraged to come by public transportation.
