Kodomo no Mori Athletic”, a field athletic facility in Kobe City Suma Rikyu Park, which had been closed since last December due to the renewal of playground equipment, will reopen on March 29. Depending on the progress of the construction, it may reopen earlier than this, and the status will be announced on the official website as needed.
The park is a relaxing spot with lush gardens and beautiful flowers. The park was once a villa of the royal family, and is now a park where visitors can enjoy nature in all four seasons. The park has 150 plum trees of about 25 varieties, and the late-blooming “Bungo” and “Rinshibai” varieties are still in bud and can be enjoyed through the end of March.
The “Children’s Forest Athletic Complex” has recently reopened at the park. The exciting athletic course was designed around the theme of “Treasure Island,” a maritime adventure story by Stevenson, and visitors can play with 28 types of wooden playground equipment, each designed to resemble a pirate ship or a secret cave, and exercise their bodies to the fullest.
The three new playgrounds are “Let’s Set sail,” “Treasure Island Later,” and “Treasure Hunt,” and the new playgrounds are “Let’s Set sail,” “Treasure Island Later,” and “Treasure Hunt. In “Let’s Set sail” and “Treasure Island Later,” the ship-shaped equipment has been revived, allowing visitors to feel like captains of a ship. In “Treasure Hunt,” visitors can choose either the “Challenge Course” or the “Easy Course,” which has different levels of difficulty, and cross a course with ups and downs to reach an observatory.
The “Treasure Hunt” is designed for elementary school students and older, but younger children can enjoy it with a parent or guardian.
