Kobe Koiso Memorial Museum of Art
[Signature of Ryohei Koiso, Western-style painter] Ryohei Koiso (1903-1988) was born and raised in Kobe. He is one of the most famous Western-style painters in Japan. He left behind numerous masterpieces, and this signature can be found in the corner of one of the canvases on which he painted his works.
The Kobe Koiso Memorial Museum of Art opened in 1992, and 31 years have passed since then. The museum was closed from April 1 to July 12 for construction work, which included replacing walls and floors, mainly in the exhibition rooms, and updating the air conditioning system. We look forward to welcoming many visitors to the Koiso Memorial Museum of Art, which has become more comfortable than before.
Next replanting scheduled for
early August 2024.
