1 Purpose

　The purpose of this award is to foster children’s motivation and courage to contribute to the creation of a better society and to promote their sound development by recognizing students who have performed good deeds that serve as models for other students, such as serving others with good intentions or cooperating in the creation of a better living environment.
　This year marks the 73rd year since the award was first presented in 1950, and a total of 1,675 children had received the award by 2021.
