Sannomiya Platz (Chuo Ward, Kobe City) will hold “Come Come Platz,” an event for taking a break in the city, from March 13 to 17.
Kobe City is one of the most advanced cities in Japan in the use of its roads. The “Come Come Platz” event is an experimental initiative to promote the use of valuable public space and to raise awareness of this space as a place where citizens can freely spend time.
The event will be held from 11:30 to 14:00. During this period, the space will be open for lunch and meetings, and will also be freely available for meeting people on their way out or taking a break between shopping trips. A “select store that makes you feel a little more relaxed” will also be held at the same time, where food and daily sundries will be sold and tasted.
A survey will be conducted on how visitors spend their time during the event and their needs regarding the public space (Machinaka Hiroba), which will be utilized for the utilization of Sannomiya Platz from the next year. <A word from the reporter>
