Press Release (May 8, 2024)
Community Revitalization Division, Community Collaboration Bureau
Kobe City Volunteer Matching Site ‘Borakuru’, a website that provides citizens, groups, companies, etc. that are engaged in community activities and solving community issues with information on organizations that are looking for human resources and connects people who want to work with organizations looking for human resources. The website “Kobe City Volunteer Matching Website ‘Borakuru'” is now in operation.
Purpose of “Borakuru
While community groups such as neighborhood associations, which have been engaged in activities such as maintenance of the living environment, disaster prevention, and crime prevention, are facing a shortage of volunteers, there are an increasing number of cases of diverse organizations such as NPOs, universities, students, and businesses working to solve local problems.
According to the Kobe City Internet Monitor Survey conducted in 2022, many respondents answered that the reason they have never participated in volunteer activities is that they “don’t have a chance” or “don’t know what the activities are or how to participate,” in addition to “work and family commitments,” indicating that they have not received information about such activities. We have started operating a matching website so that people who have never participated in community activities can easily obtain information and be inspired to participate.
