Fun and activities with children,,
Overview
The Bando Kobe Science Museum for Youth is looking for volunteers to help children experience the fun and wonder of science. Volunteers can enjoy activities with children such as guiding them through the exhibition rooms, workshops, programming and other classes, and lending books. We are also looking for star gazers for nighttime viewing events. We look forward to hearing from you.
Application Requirements
Applicants who like children and are interested in science, technology, and educational activities
Students over 18 years old (not high school students) and general public up to 69 years old
Residents of the Hanshin area
Applicants who can participate in a preliminary interview and training
Applicants who wish to participate in nighttime viewing activities must be qualified as a stargazing guide.
Period of activity
From anytime after registration to Monday, March 31, 2025 *One-year renewal is possible.
Activity hours:
9:30-17:00, about 6 hours (including 1 hour break)
17:30-21:30 (including 15 minutes break for nighttime stargazing)
Activities
Guidance in the exhibition room (including preparation and cleanup), safety management
Assistance in the Science Information Room (library), lending and organizing books
Preparation and assistance in various classes and club activities such as workshops, programming, etc.
Assistance in nighttime astronomical observing sessions, safety management

Uniform (vest) loaned
Transportation allowance for activities of 5 hours or more per day (including 1 hour break) *Up to 2,500 yen per day
Gratuity of 1,000 yen per day for nighttime activities and activities outside the Science Museum such as on-site classes

Monday, May 13 to Friday, June 14
Interview
by Friday, June 14, at a date and time of your choice (about 30 minutes). Separate training will be provided after employment.

From Sannomiya Station on the Kobe New Transit, take the Port Liner bound for Kita-futo (North Pier) for 12 minutes, get off at Minami-koen Station, and walk for 3 minutes.
