On May 16, students (12 students and 4 teachers) from National Tainan Senior Maritime and Fisheries Vocational High School in Taiwan, who won first and second place in the 2023 National Maritime and Fisheries Skills Competition in Taiwan, visited the Faculty of Ocean Policy Science of Kobe University, a national university corporation. The students (12 students and 4 teachers) from National Tainan Senior Maritime and Fisheries Vocational High School in Taiwan visited Kobe University’s Faculty of Maritime Policy and Science on May 16, and interacted with students and faculty members of the university through observation tours and hands-on learning.
This exchange visit was realized in response to a request from the Tainan National Maritime and Fisheries Vocational High School and with the cooperation of Kobe University, a national university corporation participating in the platform, through a bridge built by the University City Kobe Industry-Government-Academia Platform.
Outline of the exchange visit
The visiting students had a fulfilling schedule that included a hands-on learning experience in “Brush Up Japanese,” a course offered by Kobe University’s Faculty of Maritime Policy and Science for international students, a visit to the multifunctional training ship “Kaijin Maru” and the Maritime Museum, and a lecture by a foreign student from China studying at the Graduate School of Maritime Science and Technology.
The program served as an opportunity to deepen exchanges between the National Senior Maritime and Fisheries Vocational High School of Tainan and the Kobe University School of Maritime Policy and Science, and to further expand the possibilities for international cooperation in maritime-related fields in the future.
