Summary
On Wednesday, March 5, 2025, a citizen reported to the city’s Eastern Sanitation Surveillance Office that “on Friday, February 28, 16 of my colleagues at work went to a restaurant in Chuo-ku, and about half of them developed diarrhea and other symptoms.” The Eastern Sanitation Surveillance Office of the city’s Public Health Center received a report that “on Friday, February 28, 16 of my colleagues at work went to a restaurant in Chuo Ward.
As a result of the investigation, it was found that 10 out of a group of 16 who visited “Chicken Master Ginpachi” on February 28 (Friday) had symptoms of diarrhea, abdominal pain, fever, headache, etc. since March 1 (Saturday).
The director of the Kobe City Public Health Center concluded that the food poisoning was caused by the meals served at the facility, because all the patients had no common meals other than those served at the facility, Campylobacter was detected in four patient stool samples, the symptoms were similar to those of Campylobacter food poisoning, and a doctor who examined the patients reported the food poisoning. The director of the Kobe City Public Health Center determined that the food poisoning was caused by the food served at the facility and ordered the facility to suspend operations for three days from March 9 (Sunday) to March 11 (Tuesday).
