Kobe City conducted a survey on the actual status of aftereffects of new-type coronavirus infection. The purpose of this survey is to be utilized for the response to the “consultation dial for aftereffects” and for future measures for aftereffects.
The preliminary results of the survey are now available, and we are pleased to announce the preliminary version. Detailed results (relationship with vaccines and economic viewpoints) will be released later in the year.
1. Outline of the survey

Those infected during January and February of the 6th wave period (January 1 to April 25, 2022)
*2: Those infected during April of the 4th wave period (March 1 to June 30, 2021)
2. Survey results
In the following, “symptoms” refers to symptoms after the completion of discharge and recuperation.
(1) Percentage of respondents with symptoms
Percentage: 34% (previous survey: 48%)

(3) [By age] Percentage of respondents with symptoms
⇒Symptom prevalence decreased overall (especially among the elderly), but increased only among those in their 30s and 40s.
(4) Main symptoms (top 5 symptoms)
⇒Cough and sore throat symptoms increased compared to the previous survey.
(5) Length of time until each symptom subsides
⇒An increase in the number of respondents whose symptoms resolved within 30 days compared to the previous survey
⇒Muscle weakness and lethargy fall into the category of “sequelae” that last more than 2 months.
6) Percentage of respondents who answered “Troubles/concerns in daily life during and after recuperation” Yes
Percentage: 48% (previous survey: 61%)
