The turf used for the “Koshien Bowl,” the championship game to determine the best student athlete in Japan, was moved to the multi-purpose field at Meriken Park (Chuo Ward, Kobe City), and a ceremony was held on December 23 to mark the completion of the relocation.
The turf was natural grass that was laid in the infield of Koshien for the tournament. After waiting for the grass to take root for a while, it will be opened to the public as a playground for children and for events from March 1.
The Koshien Bowl is the final game of the All-Japan University American Football Championship Tournament, and only the two schools that win the tournament of eight teams from the regional tournaments are allowed to play in the sacred ground of Koshien.
This year, Kwansei Gakuin University and Waseda University advanced, with Kwansei Gakuin University winning the championship for the fifth consecutive year and the 33rd time! <The
