The Tadanori Yokoo Museum of Contemporary Art (Nada-ku, Kobe) will open “Tadanori Yokoo Exhibition: Full of Belly, Full of Belly” on January 28 to commemorate its 10th anniversary until May 7.

The exhibition is a digest of previous exhibitions and a self-parody of the exhibition “Anti-Repetition-Repetition” held 10 years ago to commemorate the museum’s opening. It is an attempt to cram as many as possible of the approximately 30 exhibitions held to date into the limited exhibition space.
The museum opened in November 2012 after renovating the west wing of the Hyogo Prefectural Museum of Art’s Oji Branch (formerly the Hyogo Prefectural Museum of Modern Art) in order to store works donated and entrusted by Nishiwaki City artist Tadanori Yokoo in an appropriate environment and to allow many people to appreciate them.
With the collection as its core, the museum has been promoting the appeal of internationally acclaimed Tadanori Yokoo’s art both in Japan and abroad, and has held a variety of exhibitions, including thematic exhibitions related to artists and works in various fields related to Yokoo.
